Maybe waking up...

Chrissie's blood pressure just elevated and she got two tears in her eyes, which means she might be beginning to wake up.  It's been almost 3 hours since they completely removed the paralytic drug.  The nurse here said she normally sees movement within 3-5 hours after removal of the drug.

One of you inquired about Dr. Kupferschmid's comment about maybe taking a month to wake up...not sure exactly what that meant.

Gotta go...keep praying!  I'm going to hold her hand and talk to her so you may not hear from me for a while, unless it's an emergency!

This is Joyce, I am one of the many soldiers on your warrier team who has walked in your shoes before. The one thing that really helped our Sarah as she was coming out of sedation and the months that followed in ICU was to have music playing. I brought in all her favorites and they played them over and over for her. If her machines started beeping like crazy they would know that the music stopped. Please be sure to take care of you too. Exhaustion and dehydration can creep up on you with little warning. Praying for the best.

we are praying so hard for you all. you and Chrissie are an inspiration to us all. My first thoughts on waking up this morning, was to check on Chrissie and pray for her continued wellbeing. We are in England so we are a little ahead of you in time but our hearts are with you no matter what the time.

Awake sweet Chrissie knowing that Mommy and Daddy are right there with you.

Went to bed and said a prayer for her then in the middle of the night awoke and said another one, got up this morning and had to check first thing will start praying some more for Chrissie to wake up and see that you're right there with her. I know that she already knows that you've been by her side all this time.

Matt is right about seeing your child die in front of you, we went thru that with our 13 month old, she was dying right in front of us and my husband had to perform CPR on her little listless body that was turning purple and dying in front of us. Horrific is the only way to describe it. Thankfully she made a recovery as I am certain Chrissi will too.

Prayers for your entire family to continue FAITH!

Woke up early Sunday praying for Chrissie. You have at least 2 prayer warriors agreeing together in Jesus' name and claiming Psalm 118:17 for Chrissie and believing in in faith. Our prayer with that verse is: "In Jesus' name, we pray that Chrissie will not die but will live to tell what the Lord has done." And what an amazing story she will have to tell! We're standing by you in prayer and faith (one of us in Virgina and one in Georgia)...and a host of other prayer warriors we've contacted across the country too.

Sweet family, I had the pleasure of hearing Don Piper, famed author of "90 Minutes In Heaven", speak this morning. He is living proof that God answers prayer with a resounding YES! when he hears the prayers of his people! Don, like Chrissie, died, and was FULLY HEALED AND RESTORED in body and mind!! Take courage from this and we will continue to ask our loving Father to do the same for your sweet daughter. God bless you for your powerful faith and for reminding us how important it is to SPEAK to God, always.

Here is a scripture I have been praying over you guys today: "But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy. For you bless the godly; O Lord; you surround them with your shield of love." Psalm 5:11-12 NLT
I see Chrissie and your whole family covered with God's blanket of protection and shielded by the love of Jesus.love from Paula Purswell

All 12 Martindale's are praying for you, sweet Chrissie! God gave you that spunk and tenacity for a such a time as this. Praying for your whole family as well--each child has taken one of your children to pray for especially. You are all in perfect hands as you move forward.
Our family has been where you are today on several occasions with our children. And, as you have shared regarding Chrissie, all four of our children came home--three home with us and one we had the honor of being alongside him when he went home to heaven...the greatest honor of our life.
Whatever happens, Chrissie's life will not be cut short. It will be the length that God intended--and he is using it in such powerful and amazing ways! Thanks for sharing her with all of us!
