Quick note to let you know that Chrissie's fever is gone and she has only had one dosage of fever-reducing medicine (Tylenol), which was given in the middle of the night...at whatever time it was that I announced her having fever.

No one thinks she has pneumonia at all (those were my middle of the night meanderings), but the pedi doctor does think Chrissie has some lung disease that she's probably always had, which is making it hard for her lungs to function properly.

They've gotten everything under control using Xoponex (similar to Albuterol to open airways) every four hours with suctioning of her airways as necessary. Oxygen sats vary, but mostly in the 80's now, which is fine. (Chrissie has lived with oxygen sats in the 70's her entire life.)

So, prayers for healing of Chrissie's lungs. I'm telling her to "boss" them. It will take time to teach obedience to such honery lungs! Chrissie's got her work cut out for her, but she's a fighter and such a good boss!

With God everything is possible. Gotta run...

This message is sent to you via the blessing of Lorraine's cell phone. :-)

Praise God for taking her fever away. If there was ever a girl who was strong enough to boss her lungs, it's gotta be Chrissie!

I am so thankful for what is appearing to be another day of good news. God is sooooo good! I am a frequent checker of your blog and in the last two days have learned to appreciate when there is no new post as this means there are no emergencies going on. We are all still praying hard as we know she still has a lot to overcome.

So happy to hear that her fever has stayed down. You, Chrissie, and your whole family continue to be in my prayers. Like the person who said something about not wanting to be a "stalker," I have not commented often but have prayed many times daily for you, Chrissie, and your family.

Thank you for the update. Praying now that Chrissie's lungs clear and function as God created them. HUGS for all of you today!

OK - I was thinking about how you are telling her 'boss' her lungs and heart around. Well, you are so biblically on track! What are the fruit of the spirit? Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness and SELF CONTROL! She is controlling herself. Is that possible? Is it biblical? I think so. Self control isn't just about not eating junk food, but that we are under the control of the Holy Spirit mind body and soul. Keep it up Chrissie - self control!

I have been following your blog for a few weeks now via the Riggs. My heart has ached and celebrated during the trials your family has endured these last few weeks. We're stationed north of you at Fort Hood and yesterday I got a phone call no army wife wants to get. Someone at my husband's company was crushed by the army's version of a bulldozer. i prayed and prayed as i have for chrissie. I knew prayers worked because Chrissie has come back from death several times. God really is there and he showed me that yesterday. My husband was one of the men who rescued this soldier and revived him while waiting for EMT services. Last night when my husband came home he reported that despite being crushed by something that should have killed him God kept him alive and safe. The only injuries we believe he has at this point is a broken eye socket, nose and crushed sternum. NO internal injuries! Residual brain damage is still possible due to lack of oxygen while trapped. This morning, he woke up and asked for his glasses because he couldn't see. Miracles do happen! THank you for sharing your story. It gave me hope yesterday when the situation was grim. I've always known God was amazing but yesterday he was there when we needed him the most. Even today people are saying that soldier shouldn't be alive right now. Please know that my prayers for chrissie and your family continue. Your walk in your faith is inspiring to many. God bless you and your family abundantly!

I am one of your recent prayer partners! I don't remember how I found your site, but I am quite thankful I did. I have been praying along with my not yet 2 year old son for your little Chrissie. I am so inspired by your faith and love for Christ and for this child of His. Thank you for sharing your heart and your story. I have passed along on my blog and my facebook for others to join your prayer team as well. I hope that your Chrissie stays on this side of heaven for a while longer, but if God calls her home, I pray that He will surround your family with love and comfort.

Lorraine thank you so much for you sweet comment on my blog! (journey to Laila) Yes it is the chubby cheeks I think that makes the girls look similar! If we get home with our girl and TX childrens does not think her condition is repairable we will be looking up Dr. Porisch. Praying for Chrissie and that fever to STAY away!!!

Just wanted to share this- Pastor Cymbala's (Brooklyn Tabernacle) Word for today posted on facebook:

Read Eph. 3:16 "May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality]."

Holy Spirit power for our hearts is promised today. Let's ask, believe and receive. (Pastor Jim Cymbala)
I belive that this is from God's heart to yours.
Love and hugs and prayers,
Debi

Oh my Goodness! I feel as if I'm holding my breath! Which is, of course NOTHING compared to what you're feeling.

Thanks for the updates. You're gonna hear me scream all the way from California when Chrissie walks out of that hospital!
