Marvelous Monday

So sorry I didn't post much yesterday (Sunday).  We had some much-needed family time, and I didn't get to update the blog.  (The kids actually ended up coming in and saying hi to Chrissie...I'll try to post pics later today since it's 3AM and I'm trying to throw in a quick update for all of you faithful prayer warriors who are anxiously awaiting news on the princess.)  I knew I just had to get out an update, even if it is 3AM!

Chrissie is doing very well.  The new ventilator is agreeing with Chrissie's lungs, and her oxygen sats have been in the 90's all day!!!  The morphine is working beautifully, too.  Thank you God!!!  Chrissie has been quite content and is resting peacefully for the first time in days.  Oh, I am so thrilled to feel like I can get soem rest without worrying that she's silently crying in the night.

Just wanted to say, too, that the nurses at Methodist Children's ROCK.  They give the best care to Chrissie, and my struggles with pain relief for Chrissie were complex because there are pros and cons to every drug.  Most of these drugs affect blood pressure and heart rate, which are not things we want to mess with in Chrissie's case.  Last time her blood pressure suddenly dropped, it just kept dropping until she "coded" (died), last Thursday.  Chrissie is ultra-senstive to the side effects of drugs, and the princess does not do well with changes.  She had grown tolerant to the Fentynel though, so that is why they switched to morphine, which is working SOOOOOOOOOOO much better!!!

I've gotta get some sleep, but just wanted you to know that Chrissie is stable and resting peacefully.  We're ready for more marvels on this Marvelous Monday!!!

PS  One reader would like to begin this week of prayer with fasting for Chrissie today.  Please pray to ask God if He's calling you to join her.  Regardless, please know that your prayers are greatly appreciated.  And remember, God answers "knee mail"! :-)

Mondays are my fasting days too. I love that others will be fasting today too. I will be lifting Chrissie (and your whole family) up in prayer today. Fasting with prayer is a powerful and beautiful combination. I'm claiming Psalm 118:17 over Chrissie's life. Have a restful day. (((HUGS)))

What a wonderful way to start the day! I am so happy to hear that things are looking up. Yes, God answers our prayers and Chrissie is proof of that. Big hugs from the Wusterbarth family in Louisiana!

"knee mail" Ha I Luv that!!! :-)

Happy & Thankful that the new ventilator works!!! Along with switching over from Fentanyl!!! Besides Morphine (Infumorph)aka Morph is much easy to spell. ;-)
Quality rest is so needed for healing!!! And oxygen in 90's is AWESOME!!! PTL (Praise the Lord)!!!

Boy, can I relate to finding the "right" drug ~ there's so many I've adverse effects too! I SO hope the Morphine will keep Chrissie painfree & comfy!!! I also pray she won't need it outside of the hospital ;-) meaning she goes back to the ranch pain free & healthy.

For what you've ALL been thru & finally being able to spend time as a family I'd HOPE ppl wouldn't expect an update when they want it instead of when you are able! Please don't apologize nor feel any guilt Lorraine!!! (& yes, readers, feel free to come talk to me if you don't agree) :-D

Looking forward to SEEing photos (at your conv. of course)! That's GREAT news that your children got to visit!!!

God Bless, Love & Hugs,
~Joni

So glad to hear the Morphine is working :) I was given Fentanyl when I was in labor and both times it made me itch all over like crazy, feel falling down drunk and unable to communicate or understand anyone but did NOTHING for the pain. Maybe it just doesn't work for some people?

So glad Chrissie is doing well. We will continue to petition God for complete healing!

So thankful Miss Chrissie is able to rest with the vent and pain med changes. God designed our bodies to heal during rest time so this is so good.

Continuing to pray for God's testimony through miracles in Miss Chrissie's life.

Can it really be a week since Miracle Monday? I cannot wrap my mind around the fact that just last week Chrissie was clinging to life by the thinnest thread and now she is "resting" comfortably and being weaned off the life saving machines. Only God. I know she has a long recovery and we will continue to pray for only steps forward from here on in. So glad you have the blog as a record because just telling people what happened isn't the same as reading through the play by play of it when no one (but Him) knew what the outcome was going to be. Truly miraculous. Blessings to you and your family.

We continue to pray daily for all of you. Actually it's more like hourly if not minute-by-minute.

I'm hoping you can find a way to get some more rest, Lorraine! I'll pray that God give you a supernatural "Mama Morphine" that will allow you to rest at just the right times, but still allow you to be there for Chrissie whenever she needs you.

Love and many prayers!

Thanks for the update. What a relief to know your baby girl is resting comfortable. I don't know how I'd sleep at all if I had to worry about my child being in pain.

I woke up in the middle of the night and thought of Chrissie and started to cry. I said a quick prayer for her and all of the people who love her and God gave me such comfort that I fell back to sleep in the middle of it!

When I woke up this morning, I finished the prayer I'd started several hours earlier.

I hope you all have another good day. Can you give us some idea of what the recovery process might look like? When Chrissie might be off the breathing tube? When her pain might start to naturally subside? When she might go home?

Dear Mrs. Patterson,

My family goes to Hays Hills, and I was in the princess class you taught a couple years ago. My family has been fervently praying and following your blog ever since Chrissie's first heart surgery in April. I am SOOOO happy she's doing so much better!!! PTL!!!!!
You should know that Pastor David has nearly the whole church readily praying for Princess Chrissie!! :)
Also, glad you got to have some family/fun time, I know that can be such a blessing when you're stressed. ;)

May God continue to be with you and your family!

Still praying multiple times daily for sweet princess Chrissie! I am soooo GLAD to hear that the new vent is working for her and that she is responding better to the morphine and resting comfortably! That has been one of my continued prayers --that she feel no fear, panic or pain and as always God is faithful and has His healing Hand over precious Chrissie! Keep fighting, little princess and awesome mommy and daddy bear! Hugs, Lori
