Happy Mother's Day!

This is the photo of Dr. Porisch praying for Chrissie in the waters of the Jordan River where Jesus was baptized!  (Thanks Stephanie for your help converting this image for me...it's a TREASURE that I want to have in this blog FO SHO!!!)

I am back at the PICU now by Chrissie's side.  I enjoyed hanging out with our other kiddos this afternoon and evening, and Matt LOVED his time by his princess' bedside, reading to her and praying over her and lovin' on her.  The kids and I swam, ate dinner, and watched a movie.  I just love them, and I hate that we have to be separated, but they are amazing children who are handling this time of trial so well.  They truly amaze me.  They're all very concerned about Mother's Day, wanting to make sure I have a wonderful day.  Their daddy took them shopping Friday, and they all picked me out something special, so they're eager to give me my Mother's Day gifts.  I am blessed, but for me, Mother's Day is truly every day of the year!  My children make being their mom an honor and a blessing.  I don't need a special day of the year to have my kids thank me for anything I've done.  They show their thanksgiving to me on a daily basis with their awesome attitudes and personalities.  Regardless, they really want to make sure I have a special day, but I'm not quite sure what will happen.  Chrissie will have her bronchial scope done around 9 or 10AM.  They will do it here in this PICU room, under anesthesia.  I think the remainder of our day will be dependent upon the results of the scope.  Not even sure what to pray for exactly, but God knows.  I'm thinking that it would be better to discover irritation from the breathing tube (which has been in for 21 days now) than to have it be pulmonary bleeding.  So, I guess my prayer is that they would be able to discover the source of bleeding and fix it without any complications. :-)

Chrissie is doing OK right now, and I'm praying for a quiet night.  Chrissie didn't have any more bleeding episodes today, and her sats have been acceptable.  Heart rate is lower than normal, but they think it's the Vec (paralytic).  Her body temp has been fluctuating, but we've got a tall stack of blankets on her to keep the princess happy.  I am exhausted after only having 2 hours of sleep last night. I'm going to get this post out, then brush my teeth and recline in my chair for a hopefully long good night's sleep!

Thank you for praying and Happy Mother's Day to all of you blessed mommies out there!  May you know how cherished you are by your children, and even more so by your Heavenly Father who called you to the beautiful art of motherhood.  Many of you are not mommies yet or you are desperately trying to become mommies, and i want you to be encouraged in the love of our Father.  He has a mighty plan for your life that is better than the best wish you could ever dream of.  Hang in there as you seek His will, and may you be blessed with joy from Him on this Mother's Day.  You are cherished by your Abba Father.

PS  There's now a fan page for Chrissie on Facebook.  You can find it under "Praying for Chrissie".  Thanks Ashley for setting this up!
