Samaritan's Purse has produced a new reality documentary of 3 Mongolian children whose lives have been saved by the same exact team of medical professionals who also have saved Chrissie's life. The shows will be aired in San Antonio beginning this Saturday at 9PM on channel 35. The Samaritan's Purse website also has a link to be able to view the series online, but the link hasn't been working for me. I just wanted you all to know about this so that you, too, can "meet" the same team of doctors and nurses who I will be forever grateful to. The cardiologist in the series is my beloved Dr. Mary Porisch (the one who is in Iraq right now performing heart catheterizations on children there...saving more lives around the world), and the cardiac surgeon in the video footage is Dr. Kupferschmid, the very man himself who performed this miraculous life-saving surgery on our Serbian Sensation! The people working the heart/lung bypass machines are the very people who sat in Chrissie's room 24 hours around the clock, monitoring her ECMO machine, pushing blood into Chrissie, and staying on top of every single thing that could have taken Chrissie's life in order to save her. In fact, if you visit that link above (or just click here), the lady on the website photo who has a mask over her face is Mary...she's the one who sped in to the PICU from across San Antonio to save Chrissie's life with the ECMO machine when Chrissie was dead for an hour. Mary has spent countless hours saving Chrissie's life, even when her ECMO shifts had ended on several occassions, yet she stayed around to help Chrissie when she was fighting for her life and having several near-death episodes. All of the doctors have gone above and beyond to help save Chrissie's life. They've stayed at the hospital around the clock, sleeping here in many cases, just so they could be right here to help Chrissie as she struggled up and down the first two weeks here at Methodist Children's. The video footage of this reality documentary is taken right here in the same cardiovascular operating room that Chrissie was in, in the same PICU that Chrissie is now in, being cared for by the same nursing staff and medical doctors that you'll see in this series.
God never ceases to amaze me. I cannot believe He hooked us up with these amazing servants who perform His miracles on children around the world. Please keep Dr. Porisch and her heart mission team in your prayers. Dr. Porisch is spending countless hours doing heart catheterizations to save lives on precious children in Iraq. She is such a gem. A humble servant of the Lord, sent to our family by God Himself, hand-picked to lead us to this talented staff who work tirelessly on behalf of our princess!
Thank you Dr. Porisch, Dr. Kupferschmid, Mary, Bart, Brent and all of the AMAZING nurses and cardiovascular operating team members and PICU pediatricians who have all served selflessly to save our precious princess, Christyn Joy. We are forever grateful, and words will never be able to express the gratitude in our hearts.

VERSE:
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we
ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know
that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we
asked of him.
-- 1 John 5:14-15
This just came to me in my e-mail and I immediately Prayed for Chrissie. xoxo, Kandi Ann
Loved this documentary when it first aired. Very cool to look back now and "know" who is caring for your girl! So happy to hear Chrissie is making forward progress and they're thinking the vent will be around for not too much longer!
Praying!

Rejoicing with you guys at the news that keeps getting better and better! Saw your kiddos earlier for a brief visit. Joshua and Kiefer met for the first time and I think they really hit it off! Kiefer pushed Joshua all around the house on the little riding toy... both of them smiling and having a ball! All of the kids are just precious, so polite and mature. Love all of you... still praying! :)
Awesome series! I am watching it now.
Praying for Warror Princess Chrissie, your family and the medical staff.
Love and hugs and prayers,
Debi
This Thursday is National Day of Prayer, and I think it will be wonderful to see the Lord's mighty hand at work when so many people are fasting and praying to our mighty King. I won't be able to fast Thursday, so I just wanted you to know that I'll be fasting and praying for Chrissie--the most beautiful of jewels--tomorrow. May our Lord be glorified through each one of us.
Micah 7:8
Do not gloat over me, my enemy!
Though I have fallen, I will rise.
Though I sit in darkness,
the LORD will be my light.

I cannot wait to check out the Children's Heart project! I had heard rumor that they had something in the works. Our Georgia had a pretty rocky ride getting to Open Heart Surgery (which happened as soon as we got home from China)...so excited to see what God is up to with Samaritan's purse!
Mattie...can I just tell you that you made my day by posting on my blog? It is SUCH an honor to be praying for you guys and getting the word out however I can. I love that you stopped by to say hi!
