Suture

It appears that the last chest drainage tube has an air leak around it (the sutures have fallen out and the tube slips in and out of Chrissie's chest). This would normally be OK as long as there's not a lot of fluid inside that needs to drain out. But this morning's chest x-ray showed that Chrissie's right lung is being compressed due to fluid build-up around it. So, they're trying now to suture the tube back in place, closing the hole to reduce the air leak, then they'll try to suction out the extra fluid.

Chrissie's blood pressure is high as she is NOT liking this procedure.

Please pray for our princess.

This message is sent to you via the blessing of Lorraine's cell phone. :-)

Chrissie, I know you don't like it when they have to do things that hurt. You are so strong and brave. Keep being the fighter and do like your mama says and boss those lungs to get better.... I mean, really boss them. You are the boss so show them how to get better. When you are better, I'm going to send you a present with some jewels ... A girl can't have too much bling, right? So you get bossy! Sending you hugs and a soft kiss on the tip of your nose...

Just woke up to read your night posts. It is amazing how God has provided prayer warriors from different time zones! It's like an earthly illustration of the omniscience of God. You throw out a prayer request into cyber-world and BAM - it's covered!

Of course we know that God always hears our prayers, but having a world-wide family on alert sure is a nice touch, don't you think?

I'll admit that I was frustrated on your behalf yesterday. My prayers for Chrissies were more like pleadings and rationales to our Father as to why nothing but complete healing this side of heaven would make sense, but at the end of my day Dave and I were headed to Austin and there again was a rainbow in the sky. Dave remarked that wasn't it cool that again, on a day of such struggle for Chrissie, God sent his rainbow as a reminder.

"Yeah, yeah" I thought (again, I was frustrated) but then I kept an eye on the rainbow and watched how it emerged from the storm clouds. As we drove deeper into the storm, the rainbow appeared to be swallowed by the storm, but it was still there. As any good homeschooler knows, it takes light reflecting on the moisture to see a rainbow. So I realized my perspective needed changing.

God's promise is still there amidst the storm it's just that sometimes the storm is so thick it is hard to see - that is, until God shines his light on it.

Praying we can all have eyes to see what God is up to and when we don't, that we have continued belief that his promises are still there...

...oh, and that you get some rest today!

Love,

Julie

Bible Gateway's verse today really speaks to your situation, I think: Hebrews 6:10: "God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them." What a help you are to Chrissy. What an encouragement to those following your blog. Thank you for your obedience to God, Lorraine. Carolyn

As I was driving to work this morning, and praying as I normally do, I felt a tug on my heart to pull over and pray 'harder'- The Lord was telling me I need your undivided attention. So I pulled my car over on the side of I35 N (at about 7am) I prayed for almost 20 min. When I got into work I looked at the blog and saw that around that same time as the Lord commanded me to pray 'harder' you posted that Chrissie was having problems with one of her chest tubes. I will continue to pray all day!!!! The Lord has worked so many miracles in the last 30 days for Chrissie and for all those following her amazing story and I KNOW He is not done yet!!!!!!
