Quick Tuesday Update...Day 23

Sorry for not updating sooner. Chrissie was moved to Room 4 today.  A step in the right direction!!!  We've downgraded accomodations from the Princess Suite at Four Seasons to a twin at La Quinta.  (The room is about 1/4 the size of the Princess Suite, but that's perfectly fine with me because I realize this means they believe we just might be done with life-saving equipment.  Praise the Lord!!!

I've spent the entire day trying to get everything moved, unpacked, organized, and I've culled out about 2/3 of the stuff we've accumulated over the last 23 days.  I had to downsize, so I'm not only happy about changing rooms (to a less critical patient type of room), but I'm also so glad to have things all organized and weeded through.  I've redecorated the room, and it's cheerful and fun in this new room.  We also have a huge window (the length of the outside wall), so it brings the outside in just a tad.  I can see a small tree blowing outside our window...I think it's planted on the rooftop b/c we are on the 2nd floor, and it look like a Crepe Myrtle tree.  Hmmm, I'm gonna have to check it out.  It's got some buds that haven't bloomed...wondering what color blooms it will have, but not necessarily wanting to hang around long enough to find out!!! :-)

Chrissie is doing well. Still on the ventilator, but no fever and no bleeding.  She's had a lot of coughing, and the suctioning is bringing up lots of yellow mucous, but no blood, thankfully.  Just praying our princess keeps heading in this direction.  Please, Jehovah Rapha, continue healing Chrissie from head to toe.  Breathe your breath into your princess' lungs.  Remove the infection, remove the mucous, thank you for stopping the bleeding.  Thank you, Abba Father, for loving my baby girl even more than me, and thank you for choosing to share her with our family.  You have blessed us beyond words.

I don't have an update on "E".  I have checked on him twice, but the mom hasn't been available.  Keep praying!!!

PS  The heart patient of Dr. K's and Dr. P's is still alive.  Not sure what specific prayer requests for this baby, but God knows what's going on. Thank you!

So glad you were moved into a smaller room! Awesome news. Chrissie sounds good...although I know she's still needing prayer and healing.

My friend, Elizabeth Manley, went home to Jesus last week...I sent you info. to pray for her. Her baby, Megan, is doing great. God is good, even when things are difficult. Actually, especially when things are difficult, no?

Rejoicing with you...and loving that baby girl of yours.

Thank you so much for the update on your little Princess. As I've been praying for her through all of the different medical situations, I cannot help but think that this period of time on the vent may be another one of God's protection. She doesn't have to be fully aware of the medical personnel which throws her into an axiety issue and I wonder if it has helped her through the worse of the pain while healing. Looking forward to healed lungs and to watch her wake up knowing she is/was/continues to be God's little (HUGE) miracle!

Lorraine ... I think you might be an earthly angel in the PICU unit these days. Your prayer requests on behalf of a sweet infant and Ethan are true examples of a warrior princess. SEE ... Chrissie's not the only one! The Lord can and will do great things through your testimony in that hospital. I can't even imagine what your testimony, you speaking scripture and claiming HIS NAME over Chrissie at all times has done for those who serve as his hands each day (The Dr's and Nurses). You may never know the seeds you have planted, but I pray that if even one who serves there hasn't heard the name of Jesus ... that through you, they will not only HEAR but SEE his power and come to KNOW him as their SAVIOR! I am blessed and honored to be called to be just one in the thousands of warriors praying with you and for you as you pray! You have drawn your sword .... and my friend, the warrior in you is winning this battle! Fight on!

Thanks for the update!

I'm so happy and thrilled for you that Chrissie is improving enough to move to another room.

Keeping Ethan and the baby in my thoughts and prayers!

There is no doubt in my mind that Ethan is still with us because of God. And it makes me think, If Chrissy's journey didn't take her exactly to where she is today, would Ethan have gotten the out cry to God that was needed? And now this wee baby? I Have sent out Prayers for Chrissy and Ethan and the new wee baby you have told us about. God has you very busy. Gods Blessings shall be Poured upon you! xoxo, Kandi Ann

Hi, a friend emailed me your site, and I wanted to say that I am praying for your beautiful daughter and for your entire family.

For the last few weeks I have been reading your blog. Praying today is the day I am going to read and today is going to be the day she is sitting up in bed, not hooked to any machines and smiling. Then I come and read and that is not the case (although I am still praying). Your stength in god is amazing. Your strength to carry on every single day is extrodinairy. I am mentally exhausted from reading your story, just even begin trying to imagine what you are going through. When my youngest was 2 months old he was hospitalized for 8 days and it was the longest 8 days of my life. Of course my husband was deployed and I only had one friend to lean on. She kept all my other kids.

Please make sure that you are taking care of yourself. Take time for you every day even if it is only for a half an hour. Take a walk, get some fresh air and take care of you.

You are amazingly strong.

PLEASE

I was thrilled to learn that Chrissie's room had been downgraded to one indicating improvement in her overall health. Thank you for sharing her progress and struggles, for allowing us to pray alongside you and take part in the miracle of prayer with you.

Your struggle has lasted so long that it begins to remind me of the wilderness experience of so many biblical characters. My husband has been in ICU several times during our marriage (his pancreas periodically goes into overdrive - not sure what the trigger is - doesn't seem to be related to diet). I think the four times combined have been about 25 days, which you are approaching. My heart goes out to you in particular, living in a world where crisis has become normal. Praise God He has given you grace to minister to others in your "new-normal" surroundings. But even more praise when He returns you two to the farm for REAL normalcy!
