Friday's Family: The Cannons, Adopting Dariya with Down Syndrome

I'm pleased to introduce you to today's family, The Cannon Family, who are adopting "our" Dariya!  We were Dariya's Christmas warriors for the 2010 Reece's Rainbow Angel Tree fundraiser!  God has answered our prayers to bring precious Dariya a forever family, and we ask you to prayerfully consider supporting this family in their adoption of this sweet little one.

Here is what Rochelle wrote about their family/adoption of Dariya:

Jason and Rochelle Cannon have been married for 9 1/2  years and are blessed with 3 children,  Liam (15, from Jason's first marriage who resides in the UK with his mother) Aidan (7) and Alayna (2).  Alayna was diagnosed with down syndrome at birth and has since opened their eyes to the beauty of Down syndrome. 

Jason is a driver for UPS and Rochelle was a high school special education teacher and assistant principal but has since been blessed to be able to "retire early" to stay home with the kids.

They have always supported other families on their adoption journeys and even talked of adoption but Jason was never ready to make that leap of faith until a few months ago when God laid it on his heart to check out Reece's Rainbow and when he did he fell in love. 

They have clearly seen God's hand guiding this decision and leading  their way as they journey to bring Dariya home.    Jason has been so moved by God's guidance on this adoption that he asked for their homestudy to approve them for more than just Dariya "just in case" God moves them to bring another one home while they are in Eastern Europe.

The Cannons are so thankful for the many people who have prayed for and donated to Dariya already, including Lorraine Patterson and followers/supporters who raised $3000 for Dariya's fund as her Christmas tree warrior.  The Cannons see God in the smallest of details.  For example, they were drawn to read and pray for the Pattersons and Chrissie last year and were in awe after they committed to Dariya and then found out the Patterson family was Dariya's Christmas warrior.  Coincidence?  No way...God is amazing.
