Three years ago on this day, Kiefer Thomas officially joined our family. As I’ve said before, the timing of Kiefer’s arrival made no sense to us, since he arrived from Haiti just two weeks before our Chrissie’s open-heart surgery. The logistics seemed impossible, yet we were so very excited to have our precious son in our arms.
Just a month and two weeks after Kiefer’s arrival, our lives drastically changed. Kiefer’s big sissie, Chrissie, went to live with Jesus. We didn’t know how we would carry on, but God knew His treasured gift from Haiti would help us to get out of bed daily and walk through our grief because this little gem needed us and we needed him.
We thank God daily for the gift of Kiefer Thomas, our beloved youngest son. We are so undeserving of this amazing little boy who is growing way too quickly into such a big cowboy! Kiefer LOVES ranch life, LOVES horses, LOVES rodeos, LOVES being all-boy, and LOVES his big ole family. God’s ways are so much higher than our own, and His gifts are so much greater than we can ever think to ask.
Thank you, Jesus, for sharing Kiefer with us. No words can express our gratitude.
