T for Texas, T for Tennessee

We’re having a grand time in Tennessee.

We drove our RV from Texas to Tennessee in one day.  Yes, the picture below is a photo taken while I was driving the RV.  No, I didn’t take the photo.  Notice I didn’t take my eyes off the road. Smile  Everyone piled up front while I drove (and Matt slept after driving about 11 hours).

Boss Your Heart Nashville Summit 9

The turquoise and orange Boss Your Heart shirts were a big hit around here.  We even had strangers NOT attending the conference asking us about our shirts. Smile  (The photos don’t capture the fluorescent orange, but they’re super cute!)

We had a few hours today before dinner, so we drove to downtown Nashville to visit the Country Music Hall of Fame.  When we found out the tickets were $22/person just to walk inside the museum, we opted to take photos outside and pretend we visited. Smile

We had the privilege of eating dinner with our friend and jewelry artisan, Rachael.  She’s the one who created the Boss Your Heart fundraiser necklaces when Chrissie was in the hospital.  We had never met her or known anything about Rachael until she contacted us on Chrissie’s Boss Your Heart day in 2010 to inform of us how Biblically significant the phrase “boss your heart” was to her.  Then she shared that she wanted to make necklaces in honor of Chrissie.  Then Chrissie went to dance with Jesus eternally, and Rachael FLEW to Texas to hand-deliver necklaces to our family.  Amazing woman of God.

After dinner, we attended a “Meet and Greet” with other adoptive parents and orphan advocates.  Our kids played around the venue and had a good time being silly.

Adeye of No Greater Joy Mom blog is leading a session on special needs adoptions.  She asked Matt and I if we would join the panel of parents in her session who have adopted children with special needs.  So, if you’re attending this session of Summit 9, you just might see us on this panel.  We had signed up to simply attend this session, which we may still talk Adeye into. Smile

I sure do hope to meet many of you face to face!

I have to give a shout out to all of those taking care of our six kids we left home (because they’d be extremely bored attending session after session after session from 8:45AM-9PM)!  This trip wouldn’t be possible without Stephanie, Savannah, Lori, Tony, Molly, Macy, Kendell, and Christina.  Thank you all so very much for serving selflessly to make this possible.  We are so grateful for each of you!!!
